Pavilion Theater

THERE are two Main Entrances, as follows: - Stalls, Pit Stalls, Pit, Grand Circle, and Circle, with a spacious Foyer, 34 by 50. The decoration of the surroundings is in ivory white, featured with occasional mirrors, the ceiling is of fibrous plaster with ornamental relief treated with a quiet but suitable decorative scheme picked out in gold-this makes a pleasing reception. The Auditorium is reached through two pairs of swing doors; area measurement, 85 by 60, and seating capacity on a sloping floor. The Orchestra Stalls are provided with carpet, capable of seating 200. Next come the Pit Stalls and Pit, with a good Promenade, at extreme back. Added to this accommodation there are the Boxes, Grand Circle, Circle, and Back Rows. The total seating capacity is about 1,100. There is not a seat provided but what affords an ample and clear view to witness any performance. The acoustic properties are excellent. The Exits have been properly prepared to meet the requirements of the County Surveyor.

Weymouth

This famous Dorsetshire watering place compares favourably with the Bay of Naples. To its unique geographical situation is due its rare natural privi-leges of a warm equable climate in winter and a delight-fully cool bracing air in the hot days of summer.

It excels any other seaside town on the South Coast in the prime essentials of a bracing, invigorating, dry air, a small rainfall, and the most generous dower of brilliant sunshine. The magnificent Esplanade bordering the beautiful Bay has been aptly described as a " veritable sun-trap on a fine day." Weymouth can challenge comparison with any place in England on all the conditions of winter and summer temperature, rainfall and sunshine, which go to make an ideal climate. For varied beauty and charm of land and seascape, wealth of sunshine, health giving ozone and sea breeze, a mild congenial air, there is nothing to surpass this well-known health and pleasure resort.

It is situated south of, and is closely sheltered by, the Dorset Hills on the north and east. The Purbeck Hills reach down to the sea and end in the picturesque white cliffs of the bold coastline that stretches from the beautiful crescent of Weymouth's blue bay to St. Alban's Head. Save where the huge crest of " Portland's Lone Isle," towering like a sentinel from the sea, some four miles distant, the front at Weymouth lies free and open to the sea, whence come ocean breezes pure and fresh, direct from the English Channel and the Great West Bay. There are many charming walks and drives in the district of interest to the visitor. The Marine Excursions are delightful, and the Amusements are all that can be desired, especially in the summer season.
