As part of the Stall Stories project children from St George the Martyr Primary School have been receiving training in filmmaking, interview techniques and oral history. Under digital:works supervision they have been practicing these new skills, getting them ready for interviewing traders and shoppers.

Exclusive film screening

On 15th June – Children from Gateway Primary School will be showing their film about Church Street Market on a specially equipped stall on the market.

Thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, children from Gateway Primary School have made a fascinating film about Church Street Market. Recording the history of this street market and capturing a vivid snapshot of the market as it is today.

We’ve been working once again with Year 10 Art student at La Sainte Union School in North London. This year’s animation themes are Myths and Legends. Two animations have been completed Perseus and Medusa and Thesseus and the Minotaur. Take a look.

Market Film Project gets the go ahead!

digital:works have secured funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for their London’s Historical Street Markets project. Young people from four schools will be making documentaries about their local street markets. They will be undertaking historical research at their local archives
