A photography project, working with Poole Intermediate Care Services (ICP). This was initially to reproduce the ‘Beautiful’ project, but has quickly turned into a social get together where participants share photographs and remember aspects of their lives. Some photography goes on within the sessions. What has been successful is the inclusion of the older peoples photography club, the Happy Snappers. This club is a direct result of the ‘Beautiful’ project, three years ago.

One idea being developed is to compile a book about the valuable work undertaken by the ICP team, as this service will probably be cut in the near future. The book will form a record of their achievement (they are just over a year in operation) and show the wide benefit of providing this type of service to people, and their carers, who suffer from dementia or Alzheimers.

Countertext is a collection of multimedia installations and events that will include sculpture, sound, video, and performances that will be happening from Friday 7 November to Monday 10 November, across 18 venues in Bridport, West Bay and Beaminster.

This is a fantastic new cultural event for the South West region.

Joe is exhibiting a sound work, “with the window wide open”, in Bridport Old Books. This work aims to evoke memories of a particular time and place, using field recordings along with treated sounds.”

Countertext is a complementary to the Bridport Literary Prize and an opportunity to extend the language of the visual arts in relation to the written and spoken word.
